GungalTM of the Day
Tomorrow, my honey and I will celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, so the blog will be on hiatus for a day or two. Hopefully, all the stars will align for a strife-free anniversary. My honey has early, early work hours today, so we're hoping she got off early, as well. Here's to hoping real life doesn't intrude on our wedded bliss, at least for one or two days, lol!
Homefront does have some pretty satisfying gameplay. There's plenty of opportunity to do what I like best in a shooter: Putting holes into bad guys. And the North Koreans are so bad in this game. The game shows plenty of suffering by innocents to goad you into hating the 'norks'. I just like shooting bad guys. I was doing so quite merrily until I got stopped cold in the game. I got stuck on one section that requires you to pilot a helicopter. And by 'pilot' I mean scrape along the road, sparks flying from the underside of the fuselage, because the controls (or my lack of skill) turn the chopper into a rotorized sled. I got shot down by missiles a bunch of times, and then I seemed to get past a sticking point where there was a savepoint, got shot down again, and the game put me right back to the start of the flying segment. I just up and quit in disgust. I'm not sure whether I'll go back to Homefront or not. I just loathe flying sections of games, and this one just seems so grossly unfair and clunky that it might just break the game for me. Moving on...
