Feel awful today, but let's forge on. On to the links:
- The anti-Javelin douchebaggery title update is active on XboX Live and should trigger when Modern Warfare 2 is fired up. I updated my Xbox 360 version but couldn't play (too sick today). There's been no official announcement as to what the update does beyond the Javelin glitch fix.
- Modern Warfare 2 breaks Halo 3 sales record.
- First day Japanese sales for MW2: 100,000, which is pretty good for a Western FPS in Japan.
- Modern Warfare 2 has accumlated an astonishing number of 100% scores, possibly because single player isn't considered that important by some reviewers. Here are today's reviews: Kutztown Keystone. BSCReview. PC Magazine. (It's a one paragraph review of the console version, and it states that there's not another game out there with a story as good. Really. I'd like some of what PC Mag is smoking. I guess there's good reason I don't read PC Mag any more.) Australian Gamer. PlayStationLifestyleNet. FeedYourConsole.
- Call of Duty Classic reviews: BitBag.
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2 beta impressions from GameDaily.
- G4TV talks to Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Alien vs. Predator).
- Aliens vs Predator: Hunter Edition first look from Destructoid.
- 1Up has the dope on the Team Fortress 2 "War Update" and the new, exclusive weapon it will unlock for an as yet undetermined class.
- Microsoft hypes Halo: Reach as the biggest game of 2010. Prequels. They're always the same. You already know how it's going to turn out. Although Halo 3: ODST's campaign was enjoyable, within limits, it had a grinding sense of futility to it.
- Australian Attorney General gives his weak-ass explanation for banning Aliens vs. Predator.
- BASHandSlash has news on the AVA (Alliance of Valiant Arms, a free-to-play PC FPS) and the arrival of Team USA in Seoul, South Korea for a money match.
