Morning Vent, 21 May 2010

 Give @SilentClark a follow - or else.

Since today is FollowFriday, I want to plug a particularly worthy Twitter follow: @SilentClark. As noted in the ABC News link in the CoD & Gaming links below, Clark has committed to communicating only through social media (e.g., Twitter) for an entire month. Unlike most folks, he's not doing it for notoriety, but for a noble cause: To raise $100,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and raise public awareness of leukemia and lymphoma. His reasons are altruistic and personal: Clark's immediate family has borne the scourge of cancer for decades. He's trying to raise a meager $5 from a large number of people and using social media to spread the word. It's the cost of a cheap Subway hero, but the contribution can make you a hero by helping to fund the fight against a disease that can destroy lives and families. You can find ways to help out at this link on Clark's blog, helpfully titled Ways to Help. So, please, follow @SilentClark, read his blog (The Social Media Experiment), and contribute your $5 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
