A rose by any other name...
There's a big difference between the way Infinity Ward handled Modern Warfare's PC issues and the way Electronic Arts/DICE are handing those of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. GamerNews's Roy apparently thinks that the PC gamer community is angry about the latter. In their article from 21 January 2010, "Bad Company 2's Bad Decisions Anger PC Community", GamerNews raises three basic issues: No private dedicated server; no dev console; and a lack of openness and early warning on these.GamerNews writes "Neither of these decisions are as big as Modern Warfare 2 not letting people use dedicated servers at all". Well, duh. At least, EA/DICE had the decency not to wait until 3 weeks before release.
I'm cooking up an after-action report for last night's MW2 mayhem. Stay tuned. In the meantime, look at these shiny objects over here.
