Real gun, fake bewbs, all good!
Back in November, while the Modern Warfare 2 single player was still fresh in my mind, I suggested the use of an AI director for the next MW installment. This Left 4 Dead 2 Joystiq review makes me question that a bit. It seems Valve may have upped the difficulty ante on the sequel more than they thought or more than some players expected. On to the links:
- Call of Duty 7 unconfirmed rumor: VietNam, more focused on story. Still say the Cold War has more oomph to it. Maybe Activision doesn't want to piss off the Russians again.
- The Telegraph says Modern Warfare 2 is the best selling item on Amazon UK. My favorite bit is in the first line: "Modern Warfare 2, a violent video game, was the biggest selling item..."
- Call of Duty Zombies is back on top of the iPhone apps.
- Already blogged here 28 December, but a boatload of "Me, too!" articles are following TorrentFreak's lead: MTV; Escapist; Blast.
- GamerCrave link: Over at GamerZine, Medal of Honor producer chats about their two-tiered development model in Part 1. In part 2, he discusses comparisons between CoD: MW2 and MoH.
- Humor: "I asked for Modern Warfare 2 for Christmas..." Heh.
- YouTube: WingsofRedemption Desert Eagle gameplay commentary.
- Joystiq catches up with a link for the OnLive technology demo, blogged here on 17 December. Visit the official OnLive website and sign up for the beta. It's not available in all areas, but they say they're constantly expanding. Here's a brief not-so-enthusiastic OnLive hands on impression from March 2009.
- Somewhat related: Google may expand YouTube into hosted gaming.
- Bioshock 2 "Sprung a leak" trailer from GameTrailers.
- Gears of War debuts on Xbox Live's Games on Demand. At 6 gigs, it's not for those stuck with the original 20 gb hard drive 360s.
- Today's rumor teaser: PS3 Medal of Honor beta? I don't have a PS3, so...
- 1Up's Gamer Rage Moments of 2009.
- YouTube funnies: Blast from the Past: The Death of my Xbox. (I feel his pain. Reibo and I have had 3 of these between us. Matt64 had 1 as well.)
- YouTube: Daybreakers trailer.
- James Cameron argues with a fan over an autograph. NSFW language bleeped, mostly. Mostly.
